Turtle Beach Recon 70 Multiplatform Gaming Headset for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC & Mobile w/ 3.5mm Wired Connection – Flip-to-Mute Mic, 40mm Speakers, Lightweight Design, Green Camo | TBS-6455-02

Audio quality

The Recon 70 delivers clear and crisp sound, especially for the price, but lacks the deep, powerful bass found in more expensive headsets.

Highs and mids: Reviewers note the well-balanced mid-range and clear treble, which is good for hearing details like dialogue and footsteps.

Lows: Bass response is understated, meaning that cinematic sounds like explosions lack the impact you would get from a premium headset.

Spatial audio support: The headset is compatible with spatial sound technologies on consoles and PC, such as Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, DTS Headphone: X, and Sony 3D Audio for PS5

Microphone quality

The Recon 70’s microphone is generally praised for its clarity.

Voice clarity: The high-sensitivity mic picks up your voice clearly and is easily understandable to teammates.

Flip-to-mute: The mic automatically mutes when flipped up, and un-mutes when flipped back down. It is a fixed, non-detachable design.

Quiet volume: The mic can be a bit quiet, so you may need to adjust settings in your chat software for the best results.

Noise handling: The omnidirectional mic picks up some background noise, as it lacks advanced noise cancellation

Comfort and build

The headset prioritizes a lightweight design, though it uses cheaper materials to keep costs down.

Lightweight build: The all-plastic construction keeps the headset light for longer gaming sessions.

Ear cushions: Synthetic leather-wrapped cushions provide a degree of passive noise isolation and comfort.

Headband: The padded headband is adjustable, but some users with larger heads have noted that the clamping force can become uncomfortable after about an hour of use.

Durability: The primarily plastic build is not as durable as more premium alternatives, but it’s acceptable for its price range.
